Youth Accounts

BUCKaneer Account – Ages 12 and under.

A savings account is the best way to introduce our young members to banking. A minimum of $25 will be required to open a savings account. Riverside will provide education on the very basics of finance, focusing on a “Save, Spend, Give” platform. Each BUCKaneer will receive a treasure chest to keep his/her booty in and will receive a prize every time a deposit is made. (Child must be present to obtain the prize.)

*Parents or guardians will not be permitted to use the account for their own purposes.

Accounts will be opened in the name of the minor with a parents or legal guardian signing jointly. The minor has equal access to funds and the minor’s social security number is reported. The qualified parent or guardian is responsible for the minor’s transactions. E-statements will be sent to the email address provided for the member, or parent/guardian.

 

SWAG (Savings With A Gain) Account – Ages 13-18

Teen years are the best time to practice good financial habits. Riverside FCU will help educate our teen members on how best to balance their accounts and best understand financial transactions. A minimum of $25 will be required to open a savings account. A checking account and debit card is also available with a parent or guardian co-signer. The member must have a form of photo ID on file to open a checking account. This can be in the form of a student ID, or a non driver state ID.

Accounts will be opened in the name of the minor with a parent or legal guardian signing jointly. The minor has equal access to the funds and the minor’s social security number is reported. The qualified parent or guardian is responsible for the minor’s transactions. E-statements will be sent to the email address provided for the member, or parent/ guardian.
